What is privileged identity management in Azure?

Hi, I want to understand what privileged identity management in Azure is and how it improves security. I’ve seen it mentioned in admin roles. Can someone explain it in simple terms?

I recently implemented Azure's Privileged Identity Management (PIM) for our organization and I'm really impressed with the results. PIM allows us to grant just the right amount of access to users and limit their privileged access to only when they need it, which has greatly reduced our risk of cyber attacks. The dashboard is also really user friendly and makes it easy to monitor and manage our privileged identities.

Azure Privileged Identity Management is a service, which is used to control, monitor and govern privileged access to resources so that users can access resources when needed and minimize security risk.

Privileged Identity Management (PIM) in Microsoft Azure is a service that helps manage, control, and monitor access to important resources. It enables just-in-time privileged access, approval workflows, and access reviews, reducing risks by limiting permanent admin rights and improving security visibility across Azure environments.

Privileged Identity Management (PIM) in Microsoft Azure allows organizations to control and monitor privileged roles. It provides just-in-time access, approval workflows, and auditing features. This reduces the risk of misuse by ensuring users only get elevated permissions when needed for specific tasks.

In Microsoft Azure, Privileged Identity Management (PIM) is a security service that manages access to critical resources. It enables temporary role activation, enforces approvals, and tracks activities. This helps organizations minimize standing privileges and improve overall security and compliance across their cloud environment.

Privileged Identity Management (PIM) within Microsoft Azure helps safeguard administrative access by offering time-bound privileges and monitoring capabilities. Users must request access when needed, often requiring approval. This approach limits exposure to sensitive roles and enhances accountability through logging and reporting features.

Microsoft Azure Privileged Identity Management (PIM) is designed to manage high-level access securely. It introduces just-in-time permissions, access reviews, and alerts for suspicious activities. By reducing permanent admin access, it strengthens security posture and ensures better governance of privileged identities in Azure systems.
