You can enable Ghost Mode to hide your location completely or limit visibility to select friends.

Snapchat’s location feature allows users to share their real-time location with friends and explore places nearby. It includes:
  • Snap Map – View friends’ locations (if they’ve enabled sharing) and discover public stories from different locations.
  • Location Stickers – Add a location sticker to snaps and stories.
  • Ghost Mode – Hide your location from others for privacy.
  • Live Location Sharing – Share real-time movement with selected friends for a set time.

Snapchat's location feature, called Snap Map, allows users to share their real-time location with friends on a map. Users can choose to share their location with all friends, select friends, or stay in "Ghost Mode" to remain private. It also shows public Snaps from events or locations worldwide.

The geographic feature of Snapchat operates under the name Snap Map. Snapchat users can both show their present position to friends as well as view pictures from different geographical locations. Users have options to manage their location privacy through selecting from Ghost Mode to fully hidden or choosing to share with specific friends or revealing their position to all contacts. Snap Map generates lists of trending events combined with popular user-generated stories and popular destination points that result from user engagement in separate geographical regions.

Snap Map by Snapchat enables users to switch their real-time position with friends so they can check out Snap content from anywhere across the globe. Through the location setting, users can select specific viewers of their position or activate Ghost Mode protection. Users can view featured pop events alongside local tales and their friends' marked locations when those users choose to share such information through the map interface. My Places enables users to find restaurants and places of interest close to their location based on their current activities. Users gain better connectivity with others through this feature, which provides privacy options.
