I recently switched from Windows and I’m confused about how to screenshot on mac. I’ve tried a few shortcuts but keep missing something. Can someone clearly explain how to screenshot on mac for full screen, selected area, and specific windows? I’d appreciate simple steps since I’m still adjusting.

Coming from Windows, you’re probably used to the clipboard. If you want to screenshot and paste it immediately (like into a chat or doc) without saving a file to your desktop, hold Control while you do any of the shortcuts. So, Control + Command + Shift + 4 let’s you drag a box and then just hit "Paste" elsewhere.
