I’m planning to upgrade later this year and want to compare the hardware. Does anyone have a reliable leak or the official iphone 18 pro max features specs regarding the new camera sensor and battery capacity?

Smaller Dynamic Island? Groundbreaking. Truly. I can’t wait to pay $1,200 for a slightly smaller black smudge on my screen. Apple really pushing the boundaries of "minimal effort" once again.
 
Ross Young is usually spot on with display tech. If only the IR flood illuminator is moving under the glass, it makes sense that the rest of the array still needs a cutout. Physics is a pain, you can't just hide a camera lens under a screen without quality loss yet.
 
I’m still on a 13 Pro and honestly, until they give us a 100% clean full-screen display with zero cutouts, I'm not moving. A "smaller" island isn't an upgrade, it's a refinement.
 
Same. Every year we hear "this is the year the notch/island dies" and every year it's just 10% smaller. Just give us the Fold already so we can have a real reason to spend money.
 
am i the only one who actually likes the dynamic island? the software integration is actually useful. making it smaller just sounds like it'll be harder to tap.
 
Classic Apple. They’ll shrink it this year, move one more sensor under the screen in two years, and then finally give us the "All Screen" iPhone in 2030 and act like they invented glass.
 
I'll believe it when I see it. Wayne Ma is usually pretty reliable too, so having two top-tier leakers saying opposite things just means Apple is probably testing both prototypes right now.
 
Who actually cares about the cutout? Give us a bigger battery. I would take a brick-sized phone if it actually lasted three days without needing a charge.
 
Exactly. The camera is already overkill. My 15 Pro takes better photos than I’ll ever need. Just fix the thermals and the battery life.
 
It’s hilarious how we’re arguing over millimeters of screen space. Meanwhile, Samsung is out here making trifolds that turn into tablets. Apple is playing checkers while everyone else is playing 4D chess.
 
Actually, the under-display Face ID tech is incredibly complex because of the light refraction through the OLED pixels. If they can move the flood illuminator first, it's a solid proof of concept for the 19 or 20.
 
I just want the 20th-anniversary model to be something special. If the 18 Pro is just "iPhone 17 but slightly thinner island," that's a skip for me.
