Why can't I copy and paste?

I can’t copy and paste anything on my system right now. Both keyboard shortcuts and right-click options aren’t working. What could be the reason?

It is as though your clipboard process has broken down. To repair this on windows, Win + R, and type taskkill /f /im rdpclip.exe and then restart rdpclip.exe. Alternatively, scan system files with corrupt data with sfc /scannow or deactivate browser extensions that may be limiting your clipboard permissions.

If you can’t copy and paste on Windows 10 or Windows 11, it may be due to a frozen clipboard, app glitch, or keyboard shortcut issue. Restart your PC, check Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V keys, and ensure clipboard history is enabled. Sometimes antivirus or background apps block copying. Updating Windows or restarting Windows Explorer can also fix temporary clipboard problems.

If you can’t copy and paste, it may be due to a frozen clipboard, software glitch, or keyboard issue on Windows 10 or Windows 11. Restart your computer, check if Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V keys work, and restart Windows Explorer from Task Manager. Also, ensure clipboard history is enabled. Background apps, antivirus, or outdated drivers can interfere, so updating your system often resolves the issue quickly.
