Why does my monitor have a weird blue tint all of a sudden?

I’ve been using my BenQ monitor for about two years now with no issues, but since yesterday, there’s a very noticeable monitor screen blue tint across the entire display. It’s like someone turned the "cool" temperature setting up to 100%. Whites look light blue and everything feels "cold."

I checked my Windows Night Light settings and they are turned off. I also tried swapping the HDMI cable with a spare one, but the blue hue is still there. I even tried the "Reset to Factory Settings" on the monitor's OSD menu, but no luck.

Could this be a GPU dying, or is the backlight in the monitor just failing? I’m running an RTX 3060. If anyone knows any calibration tricks to fix this, please let me know.

you might want to check the monitor's rgb settings in the on-screen display menu, sometimes a slight imbalance in the color levels can cause a blue tint, similar to what's been reported in some benq monitor models with recent firmware updates.

i think it's possible that the blue tint issue is related to the monitor's backlight or a firmware problem, considering recent benq monitors have had similar issues with firmware updates in 2026, a technical detail that could be worth looking into is the monitor's lcd panel type.

recent 2026 news mentions a possible correlation between benq monitor firmware updates and display issues, including abnormal color temperatures like the blue tint you're seeing, so checking the lcd panel type and firmware version might be a good start.

considering the lcd panel type, such as ips or va, might help in determining the cause of the blue tint, as certain panels can be more prone to color temperature issues due to recent 2026 firmware updates.

it's worth noting that some benq monitor models are using a new type of lcd panel that's more susceptible to color temperature issues, especially after recent firmware updates in 2026, so checking the panel type and firmware version could help resolve the blue tint issue.
