Why does Razer mouse software sometimes fail to detect devices?

I have been facing a problem recently, in which the razer mouse software (Synapse) failed to recognize my device, post-Windows update. I noticed the same complaints in Reddit whereby users were forced to reinstall drivers or even reset the software fully. In my case, it began upon restarting the system and my DPI profiles do not save anymore. Is this a frequent bug or may be a compatibility bug in the system? How do you fix it in the safest way and leave the rest of the settings alone?

it is a very frequent bug unfortunately. razer software is notorious for this. i found that if you go into device manager and manually uninstall the "hid-compliant mouse" drivers and then replug the usb, it forces a handshake.
