Why does WhatsApp stay on the loading screen?

My WhatsApp loading screen hangs indefinitely when I open the app. What causes a WhatsApp loading screen issue, and how can I fix it without reinstalling or losing my chat history?

yeah, clearing cache usually works for me too, maybe try updating your phone's os as well, imo that could help resolves the issue
