Windows Update repeatedly installs intel corporation - extension - 20.2.4.1019, and I’m unsure what it actually does. Is it required, or can it be safely disabled?
It’s basically a driver extension package tied to Intel hardware. Windows installs it automatically to ensure compatibility between Intel drivers and Windows features.
Intel extensions are part of the DCH driver model. They don’t do much by themselves but support other Intel drivers like graphics or chipset components.
