Why is Instagram slowly adding mobile features to PC?

I’ve noticed Instagram slowly adding mobile features to PC over time. What’s the reason behind this gradual rollout? Are there limitations that prevent full feature parity with mobile apps?

Instagram is slowly adding mobile features to PC because it started as a mobile-first app, so most tools were built for phones first. Over time, more people began using computers, so Instagram is expanding desktop features gradually to improve usability. They roll updates slowly due to technical differences and testing, while still prioritizing mobile where most users and engagement happen.

Instagram is slowly adding mobile features to PC because it was originally built as a mobile-first app, so most tools were designed for smartphones first. As more users and businesses started using desktops, the platform began expanding PC features to improve accessibility and workflow. However, updates are rolled out gradually due to technical differences between mobile and web platforms, ongoing testing, and the fact that mobile still drives the majority of user engagement.

Instagram is adding mobile features to PC to make the platform more flexible and useful. Many users and creators prefer working on a bigger screen for editing, posting, and messaging, and most content is created on computers anyway. It also helps Instagram stay competitive with other platforms and expand beyond just mobile use.
