Why is my Chromebook screen glitching and how to fix a glitching chromebook screen properly?

My Chromebook screen started flickering out of nowhere yesterday. First it was just small horizontal lines, but now the display randomly freezes and shows distorted colors. I didn’t drop it or spill anything on it, so I’m confused about what triggered it. It mostly happens when I open multiple Chrome tabs or watch YouTube. I’ve already tried restarting it and adjusting the brightness, but the issue keeps coming back. Could this be a hardware problem like a loose display cable, or is it more likely a Chrome OS glitch? If anyone has dealt with this before, what steps actually fixed it for you?

Check if it happens in Guest Mode. If the flickering stops, it’s 100% one of your extensions acting up. I had a "Dark Mode" extension that absolutely trashed my GPU rendering and made the screen look like a rave.
