Can I Add a SmartThings Dishwasher to Alexa?

I recently upgraded my kitchen with Samsung appliances and I’m wondering can i add a smartthings dishwasher to alexa to get voice notifications when the cycle is finished? I have the SmartThings hub set up, but the dishwasher isn't appearing in the Alexa device discovery scan.

If anyone has managed this, do I need to enable a specific "Samsung Smart Home" skill or just the standard SmartThings one? Also, can i add a smartthings dishwasher to alexa and actually start cycles via voice, or is it limited to just checking the remaining time and status?

You absolutely can associate a SmartThings dishwasher with Alexa by adding the SmartThings skill via the Alexa app. After the setup, Alexa can find out the status of the dishwasher (e.g., if it is in a running cycle or done); however, for safety reasons, most models do not allow full voice control for starting or modifying the cycles.

Yes — if your SmartThings-connected dishwasher is compatible (e.g., via Home Connect), you can link SmartThings to Alexa and then control it with Alexa voice commands after discovery in the Alexa app.
