Has anyone figured out how to turn off touch screen on Lenovo laptops without disabling other features?

I’ve been trying to figure out how to turn off touch screen on Lenovo because it keeps registering accidental touches while I’m typing or cleaning the screen. I checked Settings but didn’t see a direct option. I’m using Windows 11, and the touch input works fine otherwise I just don’t need it most of the time. Is this something that has to be disabled through Device Manager, or is there a Lenovo utility for it? Don’t want to mess up the display drivers.

Some Lenovo laptop users turn off the touch screen through Device Manager by disabling the HID-compliant touch screen driver. However, a built-in option to disable only the touch feature without affecting related functions is usually not available. Some models allow it in BIOS settings or Lenovo Vantage, depending on the device.

I've tried messing around with the BIOS settings on my Lenovo laptop and I think I found a solution that might work for others. Going into the BIOS settings and looking for the 'Touchpad' or 'Synaptics' settings, I found an option to disable the touch screen. It didn't seem to affect my keyboard or mouse functionality, so it's worth trying out if you're looking to disable just the touchscreen without disabling other features.

Yes, on many Lenovo laptops you can disable only the touchscreen by turning off HID-compliant touch screen in Device Manager, leaving keyboard, touchpad, and other features unaffected.

Yeah, the easiest way is through Device Manager. Just open it, expand Human Interface Devices, right click HID-compliant touch screen, and choose Disable. I did this on my Lenovo too when the screen kept registering random touches while cleaning.

Yeah, I’ve dealt with this on my Lenovo—go into Device Manager → Human Interface Devices, find the HID-compliant touch screen, right-click and disable it. It only disables touch, everything else (keyboard, mouse, pen) still works. Super quick fix, no extra software needed.

Yes. On most Lenovo laptops running Microsoft Windows, you can disable only the touchscreen without affecting the keyboard, touchpad, or other features. Open Device Manager, expand Human Interface Devices, right-click HID-compliant touch screen, and select Disable device. This turns off touch input while keeping all other functions working normally.
