I have heard that PS5 has the option of sharing game, and I am still puzzled on how to do so. Want to know the steps to take exactly, any dangers, and the possibility of both players to play the same game simultaneously.

I’ve set this up before — to game share on PS5, you just need to log in to your friend’s console with your account, then go to Settings → Users and Accounts → Other → Console Sharing and Offline Play, and turn it on. After that, your friend can access your digital games. They’ll do the same on your console so you can share each other’s libraries. Just remember, you can only have one primary console per account, so choose carefully.

Yes you can game share on PS5. The following are easy step-by-step instructions, fast risks and being able to play at the same time.

Procedures (to play digital games of a friend on your PS5)
  1. Get your friend to use his PSN account on your PS5 (they need to enter his email/ password).
  2. Regarding that: go to Settings>Users and Accounts> Other> Console Sharing and Offline Play and Enable.
  3. Sign out of his account and get back into your account on the same PS5.
  4. Open Game Library > Purchased and download the games you want to play.
  5. Later, to stop sharing, they can log on to your PS5 and turn off Console Sharing, or make them change their password.
*Should you want your friend to play your games, will have to repeat the same procedures on their PS5 when you are logged in with your account.

Dangers / things to know (short):
  • You need to have faith in whoever you share the passwords with access to purchases, payment options, trophies, and so on.
  • Console Sharing can only be set for one console for an account.
  • Introduction of these games or services might work differently (DLC, subscriptions, region locked content).
Simultaneous play: Typically yes the owner is capable of playing online on their PS5 at the same time that the other party plays the copy shared on the console where the Console Sharing feature is turned on but not simultaneously assuming both individuals use the same PSN account.

You can make me even shorter (forum-style) or I can write one-paragraph answer to post.

Game sharing on PS5 can be done by listing your friend as your “Primary PS5” in: Settings Users and Accounts Other Console Sharing and Offline Play. It is not dangerous when you trust one another but only one of you can play the common game at a time.

Log-in in your PSN account on your friend PS5. Open Settings Users and Accounts Other and Turn on Console Sharing and Offline Play. Then you can lend your friend your games through your library, who will then be able to use it on their own account.
