How do I access and play NYT Games without loading issues?

I’m trying to use NYT Games, but some puzzles and mini-games aren’t loading properly. Has anyone experienced this? What’s the best way to fix slow loading, login issues, or subscription errors?

I had the same issue last month. NYT Games kept freezing on the loading screen, especially the Mini. What fixed it for me was clearing my browser cache and disabling a couple of extensions (uBlock was messing with the scripts). Also, try logging out → closing browser → logging in again. Their servers glitch sometimes but usually refresh fixes it.

Bro SAME I thought my WiFi was dying but turns out NYT Games doesn’t like old browsers. I updated Chrome and everything started loading instantly. If you’re on Safari, switch to Chrome/Firefox the Mini literally loads in 1 second now.

Mini-game wasn’t loading for me yesterday and I legit thought my subscription expired mid-puzzle. Turns out it was just my office VPN messing things up. NYT Games hates VPNs, proxies, or any “suspicious traffic.”
I turned VPN off → refreshed → boom, it worked.
So yeah… my paranoia was the actual bug

No dude, that’s not true. It’s almost always a local issue browser cache or extensions. I’ve been using NYT Games daily and haven’t seen any server problems at all.

If you're getting login or subscription errors, check your account status. Sometimes it logs you out without showing it properly. Go to “Account → Games → Manage Subscription.”
Also, open games in incognito mode to test if it works there, it’s 100% an extension or cookie issue.
