How Do I Go Full Screen on Windows?

Some apps and games on my PC won’t go into full screen mode. I’ve tried basic options but nothing seems to work. Is there a shortcut or setting I might be missing? Any tips to force full screen?

The quickest way to switch to full-screen mode on Microsoft Windows is by pressing the F11 key on your keyboard. This will work for the majority of browsers and apps. When it comes to videos or media players, the usual way is by clicking the full-screen icon(or double-clicking on the video). In games, full screen is most often a display setting that can be toggled on/off. To maximize a window, you can either click the square icon located in the upper-right corner or press the Windows key + Up Arrow. When you want to go out of full screen, the combination will be either F11 or Esc, depending on the program.

In order to enter fullscreen mode using Microsoft Windows, hit F11 in most applications and web browsers. In video playing or gaming applications, you can either use the in-game fullscreen button or Alt+Enter key combination. Disabling the taskbar from view by enabling its autohide option will help create a clearer fullscreen environment.

Try pressing F11 or Alt + Enter, most apps and games toggle full screen that way. If it still won’t work, I usually check the in-app display settings or Windows display scaling real quick, that fixes it most of the time.
