How does Snap Score work on the app?

I’m confused about how the Snap Score system works on Snapchat and what actions actually make it go up. Does it increase only when you send snaps, or do other activities like chats or stories count too? Any detailed help would be appreciated.

Snap Score is basically a number that reflects how active you are on the app. It goes up when you send and receive photo/video snaps, maintain streaks, and post stories. Opening snaps also matters because Snapchat counts engagement signals. Chats or text messages don’t increase your Snap Score directly.

Exactly — your score grows mostly from snaps sent and received and other active engagements. Stories, streaks, and adding/accepting friends can help it climb over time too. Just chatting won’t boost it, even if you’re online a lot.

I’ve noticed my Snap Score jump after posting stories or keeping streaks active with friends. But hours of texting alone never moved it. So stick to snaps and activity features to bump your score up.

Your Snap Score mainly increases when you send and receive photo or video snaps—that’s the biggest factor in how Snap Score works on the app. Simply opening snaps also helps your score grow over time.

I noticed my score jumps more when I open snaps I’ve received and when I post content to my story. Even if you don’t send a snap, posting stories can still help.

My score sometimes goes up even when I haven’t actively snapped much that day. I think Snapchat’s algorithm also updates scores in batches, so changes don’t always show instantly.
