I’m trying to learn how to add subscript in Google Docs for writing formulas and scientific text. I’m not sure where the option is located or if there’s a keyboard shortcut for it. Can someone explain the steps or share an easy method to do this?

If you want ready-made subscript text (like Unicode subscripts you can copy-paste anywhere, including Google Docs), check out the free tool at Oualator Subscript Text Generator.

I use this a lot in Google Docs for formulas. Just highlight the text, go to Format → Text → Subscript, or use Ctrl + , (Cmd + , on Mac). Works easy once you remember the shortcut.

To add subscript in Google Docs, highlight the text, go to Format → Text → Subscript, or use the shortcut Ctrl + , (Windows) / Cmd + , (Mac). This makes the selected text smaller and lowers it below the baseline.

To add subscript in Google Docs, highlight the text you want to change. Click Format in the top menu, select Text, then choose Subscript. You can also use the shortcut Ctrl + , on Windows or Cmd + , on Mac for quick formatting
