How to Connect a Laptop to a Projector?

I’m trying to connect my laptop to a projector but it’s not being detected. I’m unsure if it’s a cable issue or a settings problem. What’s the correct way to set it up and troubleshoot this? Any advice would be great.

Connect the projector to your laptop using an HDMI/VGA cable. Switch on both devices and press Windows Key + P to choose between "Duplicate" or "Extend." Should you have any connection problems, make sure your projector uses the correct Input Source and use another cable.
