I’m having trouble figuring out how to disconnect CarPlay from my car permanently. Even after unplugging the cable, it reconnects automatically. I want to remove my car from my iPhone settings completely. Please guide me through the correct steps.

To forget your car, go into your iPhone settings, and tap the general and tap CarPlay and select your car in the list of cars. That is the only way to truly solve how to disconnect CarPlay permanently so it stops searching for the pair.

So what would be the point of doing that? Simply switch off your bluetooth and it will no longer do the wireless handshake but to be honest the cable is the solution to this problem should you desire to be stable.

If you want to know how to disconnect CarPlay for real you have to go into the car head unit settings too and delete your phone from the device list otherwise it might keep trying to ping your device every time you start the engine.

I too experienced this problem and it was making me mad as it kept taking my sound concentration. Simply switch the disable carplay switch in the content restrictions of the screen time settings in case you cannot use the regular menu.

All you need to do in your bluetooth options is to forget the device and it should disable the auto launching feature. The majority of the population forgets that wireless carplay makes use of wifi and bluetooth to initiate connection.

It is indeed relatively easy when one simply visits settings and then general and turns off the carplay option to get rid of the vehicle. That is basically the gold standard for how to disconnect CarPlay without having to factory reset your whole phone.

One of the first things I would recommend to try is to open your car and see whether it has a particular setting that will turn off the smartphone integration since there are some cases when the car is the one that triggers the prompt. If you disable it there you wont have to worry about how to disconnect CarPlay on the phone side.

I simply switch my wireless internet off whenever I am driving since the wireless one requires such signal to project the screen. No wifi implies that it can remain offline until the time you physically connect it to a power source.

The simplest method is to access the carplay menu of the phone settings and tap forget this car. Also remember to remove the phone on the car dashboard list so they both cease to be searching after each other.

To fully disableapple carplay in order to have your iphone not automatically connect to the car, then open up settings, find CarPlay under general, Tap your car in the list and select Forget this Car, you can also simply unplug the phone out of the car head unit or turn off CarPlay in your Screen Time restrictions as well.
