Can someone explain how to find how old a mac is easily? I want to check the age of my device for performance reasons. Are there built-in tools for this?

To find how old a Mac is, click the Apple menu and select About This Mac in macOS. It will show the Mac model and the year it was released. You can also check the serial number on Apple’s website to see the exact manufacture date.

To find how old your Mac is, click the Apple () menu and select About This Mac, where you’ll see the model name and release year (like MacBook Pro 2019), which gives a quick idea of its age. For a more precise estimate, copy the serial number from the same window and check it on Apple’s coverage page to view purchase details. This helps you determine how many years your Mac has been in use.

To find out how old your Mac is, you can check the serial number. On the Apple computer, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen (or “About This Mac” or “More Info” in the menu bar) and record the serial number. To find out manufacturing date and model information, enter it into Apple's warranty check website or a serial lookup website.
