To restart your iPad Pro, press and hold the Power button and a Volume button (for Face ID models) or just the Power button (for models with a Home button) until the power-off slider appears. Slide to turn it off, wait a few seconds, then press and hold the Power button again until the Apple logo appears.

A restart of iPad Pro requires simultaneous button pressing of the top button and any volume button until you see the power slider. Using the slider, you can switch off the iPad Pro. After a few seconds of initial top button press, you should hold it down a second time until the Apple logo displays itself. A restart sequence begins under Settings > General > Shut Down with an option to activate system power.
