Overnight my Android phone battery reduces by 20 percent despite closing all applications Redmi Note 11S

My Redmi Note 11S (MIUI 14, Android 13) would lose about 2-3 percent overnight; however, it is losing 18-22 percent when the phone is idle, and the screen is off. I do not have location on with the majority of apps. An android system and Google Play Services consume the most power in battery settings. I optimized the battery of all apps, turned off the background activity of social apps, rebooted in safe mode (the battery still decreased by about 15% at night), and examined the applications running in the background (no suspicious apps found). I also deleted cache and performed factory restart (would not wipe data). Charger and cable are fine. More to the point, is this a rogue app or process or battery health line. For all CPU wakelock how can I diagnose my CPU wakelock or view what is the causing kernel/process.

It sounds like you’ve already tried most fixes, which is great. A 20% overnight drop usually points to a background system process or battery wear. Try these quick checks:
  1. Check battery health – Dial *#*#6485#*#* → Look for MB_06 (battery capacity); if it’s much lower than the design value, the battery may be degrading.
  2. Use BetterBatteryStats or AccuBattery – These apps can help identify wakelocks and which process keeps the CPU awake.
  3. Turn off “Find My Device” and Google Backup overnight to test.
  4. Update MIUI and Google Play Services – old versions sometimes cause drain.
If the battery health is fine but the drain continues, it’s likely a software bug in MIUI 14; a clean flash or service center check might help.
