What Are the Best Methods for Computer Virus Prevention at Home?

With so many threats online these days, I’m trying to take computer virus prevention more seriously. I already use basic antivirus software, but I’m not sure if that’s enough for proper computer virus prevention. What additional steps do you all take for better computer virus prevention without slowing down your system?

I honestly think just having a basic antivirus isn't enough anymore. I’ve started using a non-admin account for my daily browsing. That way, even if something malicious tries to execute, it doesn't have the system permissions to install itself. It’s a bit of a hurdle at first, but it’s probably the best "silent" layer of protection you can add.
