What does screen recording mean on Snapchat?

I noticed that Snapchat sometimes notifies people when someone does a screen recording on Snapchat. What exactly does screen recording Snapchat mean, and when does it get triggered?

Basically it means that someone used their phone's inbuilt screen recorder while looking at a snap or chat. Snapchat knows that and sends a notification to the other person, as it does for screenshots. It's Snapchat's take on protecting privacy so that people know if someone is saving their content.

Lol I learn this the currigent way. tried to record a snap to my friend and the person actually messaged me saying "nice try ." So yeah, Snapchat gotta snitch on you if you screen record and screenshot. Just take everything for granted in terms of Being Reported For

Wait but it does not always notify, right? I've done it in video calls and sometimes there is no alert popping up. I guess it would depend on if you are recording the chat, story, or private snap. Snapchat's detection is not perfect tbh.

Nope, @Emmawoods you're wrong. Snapchat does notify 100% of the time for screen recording on chats or snaps. Or maybe you just did not notice the alert. It's all about privacy people need to know when you're saving people's stuff.
