Why can I access an FTP server in a normal browser?

I’m trying to connect to an FTP server using a standard browser. Can I access an FTP server in normal browser directly, or do I need a dedicated client? Are there restrictions depending on the browser version, and what is the safest way to browse FTP files?

hey @Tchancoiviesmil, tbh, you can access an ftp server in a normal browser, but it's not always the safest way, imo.
