I keep seeing the message system information can't collect information on my computer and I’m not sure why. What causes this issue and how can I fix it? Any simple troubleshooting steps would help.

This error usually occurs when system tools lack permissions, required services are disabled, or files are corrupted. It can also happen due to outdated drivers, antivirus blocking access, or system glitches. Restarting the device, running as administrator, updating drivers, or repairing system files often resolves the issue successfully.

The error is typically caused by the inability of the system to access required data because of permission issues, disabled services, or corrupted files. It can also occur when background processes are blocked, or system settings are configured improperly. Rebooting the device, revising permissions, and updating the system are often helpful to resolve the issue promptly.

This error usually occurs when the system information tool is unable to access certain system files or registry entries, often due to permission issues or corrupted system files. You can try running the system information tool as an administrator to see if that resolves the issue. If not, you might want to check for any recent system updates or malware that could be causing the problem. Additionally, you can try restarting your computer in safe mode and then running the system information tool to see if it can collect the information successfully. This might help you identify the root cause of the issue.

A “system information can’t collect information” error usually happens when the device or app cannot access required system data. Restarting, updating software, or reinstalling the app often helps fix the issue quickly.

The “system information can’t collect information” error usually appears when Windows cannot access important system files or services. It may happen because of corrupted system files, disabled services, insufficient administrator permissions, or damaged Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) components. Malware or incomplete updates can also trigger the problem. Restarting the PC, running System File Checker (SFC), enabling required services, or repairing WMI often helps fix the issue and allows System Information to work properly again.
