Why is iphone email not updating?

My iphone email not updating properly and I’m missing new messages. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it? Any quick solutions would help.

Usually, it’s something simple: either your internet is weak, Background App Refresh is off, or Mail isn’t set to fetch new data. I’ve had this happen when “Fetch New Data” was set to manual, so emails didn’t update until I opened the app. Also, check if Low Power Mode is on, your account password is still correct, and Apple’s Mail servers aren’t down. A quick fix that works for me most times is just toggling Mail off and on in settings or restarting the phone.

The iPhone email might not be updating because of certain factors such as a poor internet connection, incorrect mail settings or background app refresh is off. It may as well occur when fetch settings are configured to manual rather than automatic. To resolve the situation, you can first check your account settings or refresh the app or restart the device.

  • Poor internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data issues)
  • Mail fetch settings not set to push/auto
  • Wrong password or account issue
  • Background app refresh turned off

iPhone email may stop updating because of a poor internet connection, incorrect mail settings, disabled background app refresh, or outdated iOS software. Sometimes the Mail app fails to sync properly with email servers due to password changes or server issues. Low storage space and battery-saving settings can also interrupt updates. Restarting the iPhone, refreshing the Mail app, checking account settings, or updating iOS often fixes the issue. Re-adding the email account may also restore proper syncing.
