Can Instagram see screenshots of chats?

I am not sure if my friend can see the screenshot notification I have taken of his chat. Can someone confirm me this?

No, Instagram does not notify users when you take a screenshot of chats or direct messages. However, if you take a screenshot of a disappearing photo or video (sent via Instagram Direct), the sender will be notified. Regular text chats, images, and videos are not tracked for screenshots.
